Our Recommended Way To Travel From Afar

For anyone who can not easily drive to South Bend, the most inexpensive way to travel is by a combination of plane and train. Fly into either O’Hare Airport (ORD) or Midway Airport (MDW) in Chicago. From the airport, take the “L” Train to downtown Chicago. Then hop on the South Shore Line train from Millenium Station in downtown Chicago and take it to the South Bend Airport (SBN). Though it requires a little bit of walking in downtown Chicago, this method of travel is on average several hundred dollars cheaper than flying directly to the South Bend Airport. Chicago has an underground walkway system called the Pedway which you can take from the “L” Train stations to Millenium Station. If you require ADA accessible travel routes, it is possible to use this travel method, but will be more inconvenient than flying directly to SBN.
